Only had one book which merely described functions, and not the logic behind it.
I had to create a code which, when ran by the scheduler, would create a new directory with a time and date stamp and then copy the contents of the production directory into it, complete with subdirectories.
I also made the code portable, so any Winbloat machine regardless of time/date regional settings could use it without alteration.
Originally made it for myself, but a network administrator took interest when my boss told him about it too. Told another co-worker and he might have a use for it as well.
It's cool to be a consultant for them once in a while instead of being the token peon. (they usually hire outside consultants often enough, which should be a waste of money as THEY are hired to do the work...)
Sheesh, I do all the work, cool and otherwise, and yet they get paid more than me, yet alone the outside consulting gripe... What is wrong with this picture?
