Back to reality: A's destroy Mariners 12-0
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Ted Lilly volunteered as an emergency fill-in, then pitched another gem right when Oakland needed it.

Lilly won his sixth straight start in place of the injured Rich Harden and Mark Ellis hit his first career grand slam as the Athletics avoided a three-game sweep by second-place Seattle with a 12-0 win Sunday.

Seattle really needed to sweep this series to have a realistic chance of winning the division. Now they are doomed.

2. Go Red Sox!
They will do their best to hand the wild card slot to Seattle, but even they might not be able to lose making the post-season this year!

4. Oh ye Red Sox fans
Please don't get your hopes up.
It's already spreading in the Red Sox Nation, that thing called hope.
Boston doesn't have a closer, BK is unstable, and outside of Pedro, I really don't think they have the pitching.
But that offense is the spawn of satan!!!
But I'm hoping Boston wins the WC- it at least sets up the idea of an ALCS with my Yanks

5. Hey WindRavenX--don't get YOUR hopes up!
I don't think the Yankees have "it" this year,

Not sure who does, though.

6. Yanks might not have it,
I agree, but then who does? I'm a dyed in the wool fan of the Yanks, and I'm not to sure about this team, but who else/ Maybe the As, but Yanks/Boston ALCS would be a gem, toss up as to the out come. Boston is loaded for bear, if the pitching holds up, gonna be a good October in the AL.
