I got to go on the road with them during the 70s. Shared a room with Fergie. Are you in Louisville?

I was a writer and photographer. They still use some of my pictures.

Recently, since I'm currently in Florida, I had a reunion with Tom Staley the original drummer. He's got a web site and is making records on his own. Fergie has some awesome stuff on disc with his Midwestern Creole Ensemble.

Good to bump into a Q fan.

NRBQ is very popular in Nashville.

I lived in Shively and went to Butler high school NRBQ used to do a bit on their school fight song.

I remember Terry doing Blue Rondo Ala Turk at a school talent showcase. I saw a lot of puzzled faces in the crowd.
it was quite a jolt having Terry sandwiched between baton twirlers, and a sad little boy playing "Lady of Spain" on his accordian.

61. Yeah. Bull's Head Road, Clinton Corners, NY

I was a writer and early reviewer of the Q. We got friendly and I spent a lot of time at the "NRBQ Farm" and on the road with them.

I kind of became their personal announcer, and when they did the Folly Farm Festivals in (I think) Wappinger's Falls, NY, Donn and I were co-emcees and did schtick while they were changing band setups.

Wish I could have seen Terry in high school. He is a genius.

64. Would you believe he hated Rock & roll?

I was long gone by the time he graduated, but I heard they were not going to let him take part in the ceremony due to his long hair. His classmates stood up for him, signing a petition urging the principal to allow him to attend. All but three signed it, and that was because they were never there.

His first drummer, while he was in school was a guy named Gerald Thompson, or was it Thomas. he was as wide as tall, and could really play. His bass player went to our school too. I cannot remember his name.

65. I hated rock and roll too.

I was strictly into jazz and classical as a kid. Later on, I adjusted my aesthetics to accommodate all kinds of music. So I think I know where Terry was coming from. He may have hated it, but he surely heard it.

I didn't know any of the Louisville guys except Ferguson. By the time I met them, they'd merged with The Seven of Us (Frank and Joey) and added Staley on drums. Staley has some good new stuff on his website.

He probably doesn't remember me. It's been nearly 35 years since I have seen Terry. I ran across him at a club in Michigan.

I have somewhere on tape, Terry sitting in on the David Letterman show. He did a solo that really rocked.
