My friend builds the fastest cars in Canada--ask me anything!

My friend Dave builds the fastest production car in Canadian history, and he finally proved it last Wednesday.

RCMP clocked him on a closed track at 174.6Km/h (that's about 130mph).

It's a tiny engine, but the horsepower to weight ratio is insane.

185hp in a 900lb car = 0-60mph in 3.78 seconds.

And just shy of the world reverse-speed record (165.08Km/h), at 164.47Km/h.

The car uses a modified motorcycle engine and gearbox. The gearbox is configured so all six speeds work in forward and reverse, so it was worth attempting the reverse record.

Mine will be a little less, because I'm ordering it with a more tame, low maintainence Ford 4-cyl motor--the Suzuki one is too hot to handle, and very tempramental.
