13. Remember The "Terror Futures Market"?

Remember the Pentagon's plan to have a futures market on terror, in which people could wager on when the next attack might take place, how many would die, which Middle Eastern country would be the first to use nuclear weapons, etc.?

That plan was scrapped, but how about a futures market on error?

Let the people wager on how low President Botch's approval rating will go, how high unemployment will be each month, how huge the deficit will get, and how many states he'll lose in the next election?

Democrats who wager on things getting worse stand to make a fortune. Republicans who think things are great and will only get better stand to lose a fortune. The economy gets a boost. Bush loses the election. And then this "program" could be scrapped.

(I know nothing about markets and business so I'm not sure if I used the right "terms" to describe things, but I think you get the gist.)
