My cat is trippin!!!

She got spayed today, I picked her up after work. She's always been a little wild child, and we figured this would calm her down. I have witnessed the funniest movements ever made by a cat tonight. She won't walk normal, she's walking really slow and hunched to the ground. Every now and then, she takes off at a high rate of speed like her ass is fire and somebody's chasing her. Poor thing is terrified of something. No more pain meds for little Miss Scribbles tonight!

12. DAMN!!!!

They gave me demerol after my hysterectomy and I hallucinated that they moved a new patient into the empty bed in the room. There were people talking and the curtain moved and everything. I woke up and puked all over the bathroom then asked my nurse where my rommate went. She looked at me as if I'd lost my mind. All future demerol shots came with phenergan to prevent that.

She will be okay by morning. I think you should keep giving the pain meds as prescribed though.

4. Every six hours...

Plus, I had to cut off food and water at eight last night, and they said not to let her eat or drink until after eight tonight...It's 11:45, and she just really ate for the first time...empty stomach hallucinations+anesthesia+pain meds...must be too much for her.

14. I agree on both counts

I don't know why vets never tell people about the post-anesthesia syndrome; I thought my cat was dying when I picked him up early after his neuter.

I wouldn't withhold the pain killers; poor kitty has had a traumatic, painful experience.

5. It's a good thing.

I have two Cat's also. I always spay my cat's even had my mom's done, and her cat was shaking the carrier when I went to pick all three of them up. I knew which one was my mom's. she was a wild one. She kept her meanness, but stopped attacking people when they came in the door. lol:mad:

The male got fixed first, the other female after her second litter of kittens in 6 months (little slut :) ) , and she's nine months old and in heat every time you look at her. It was definitely time.

9. hallucinations... they'll wear off

I sometimes have picked up my cats from the vet "too early" because of time/convenience problems. They tend to suffer hallucinations coming out of anesthetics. My vet recommended I isolate them (him/her) in the bathtub until the anesthetic wears off. Right.

She sounds like she is in pain. She's terrified of what ever is hurting her, and dosen't understand what it is. I don't care much for pain meds, but after surgery they are probably necessary.

ps her ass probably feels like it is on fire!
