Best frozen Pizza?

the bush* economic miracle is forcing some budget considerations, like shopping and eating at home instead of eating out or having stuff delivered.
While browsing the local market, I was surprised at the large selection and variety of Frozen Pizzas.

Which do you recommend?

1. DiGiorno and Freschetta are pretty decent.

Although they both use too much tomato sauce for me.

Have you considered buying a pizza stone and making your own? I haven't had frozen pizza for 10 years.

23. Give it a shot

It takes some practice, but once you get it down it's really easy. I buy yeast and cheese at Costco, their yeast is literally 1/100th the grocery store price. I also make my own sauce using Alton Brown's red sauce recipe. It's also easy after some practice.

But the best tip.. Build your pizza on parchment paper. It completely eliminates the hardest part, sliding the pizza onto the stone.

25. It's easy. Chef Boy-R-Dee has a crust mix and fairly good sauce to ...

give you a start. (Actually the sauce is damn good. Get the plain , not the pepperoni though.)

The crust turns out tastier than the frozen or prefab versions too.

Add your own fresh toppings. Most toppings lose flavor when frozen.
And you custom divide your pizza to suit the tastes of family/friends.

Way better than frozen, and from scratch for real takes WAY more time.
The results are worth it.

Find a good Focaccia bread recipe. That makes a REALLY yummy crust.

13. mmm...DiGiorno

The spicy chicken ones are the best imho...they are pricey, however. If you want a decent value without a cardboard crust and chemical sauce taste, (yuck! cheap pizza can get nasty) try out your store's generic "Premium" line. They are still cheaper than the DiGiorno, but not as nasty as the horrible pizza I describe :)

we prefer to add extra stuff to them to help get rid of the frozen taste.

16. They're all pretty expensive unless on sale.

I usually get the huge things from Costco. Bake half and freeze half. If I'm really inspired I get the dough from Trader Joe's and make it on the pizza stone.

My favorite frozen is the Stouffer's French Bread.

18. Another way to go... Boboli Crusts!

Spread with only as much tomato sauce as you like...topped with what you want. Much cheaper than any alternative, for certain.

Good price, and far better than the well-known name brands. I have to admit I was surprised at this. I bought one because it was on sale, and was glad I did. Surprisingly rich and flavorful.

Although I have to admit: the Pizza is the best available here - that's not saying much
I'm talking about the spot on the right, labeled "Big Pizza". (and a slight hint: the text under the small picture/link says "Married with Children".)

26. I usually get Tombstone or DiGiorno and doctor it up.

I add stuff like fresh onion, mushroom, banana pepper, oregano, garlic salt, etc. Turns out pretty good.

Of course, I'm from Connecticut and I liked that movie, so I may just be a wee bit biased. ;)
