1. Yupper...
Poor pappy had the flu. There's tape of it, though here in the states with our wonderful sensibilities to consideration for others the full tape WAS BANNED. someone showed it once and was fired. Never shown again. Can you guess the stiuation if Clinton had puked>

5. I saw a clip on the news..
of George leaning over in his seat and hurling into the lap of the Japanese prime minister. You don't really see the full monty, because the table cuts off the view, but the look on the PM's face is priceless.

I saw the clip several times on different news programs, so I don't think it was banned. Maybe there is another shot that was more graphic that was not shown.

No matter how sick I was, I would not have leaned over into the lap of person next to me and barfed, I would have pushed back from the table and done it on the floor in front of me. Incredibly inconsiderate, self absorbed, and weak on the part of the Busher.

11. Kinda like Junior
cleaning his eyeglasses on the jacket of that woman. The Bushes just have no respect for anyone around them, because in their view, everyone around them is there to serve them.

I clearly remember Poppy retching directly into the lap of the Japanese PM. You (thankfully) don't see the chyme, but you're right, the look on the PM's face says it all.
:puke::wow:

If Clinton had done that, we'd still be seeing it every single day on every news channel.

2. Yes, there was even a photo
They were at a banquet and Bush Sr. became very ill, very quickly, and was on the floor, actually barfing on the shoes of the Japanese leader seated next to him, who then said "I'm through with you! ", which is where Barbara Bush got that line. LOL - just kidding about the quote.

3. 'tis true.
but not all that exciting.

Details are hazy, but he was at a state dinner in Japan, sitting next to their premier at the time. Something didn't agree with him and he hurled.

Many bad sushi jokes at the time, but it was embarassing all around, and it was really no big deal and they both laughed it off.

4. And I seem to think it occurred
early in 1992, at the very beginning of the presidential electoral process, when common wisdom was that Bush was unbeatable.

Edited on Wed Sep-24-03 06:54 AM by Kellanved
Bushusuru (might be an urban legend, it is supposed to mean "to do like Bush") and "Bush Tokyo bomber mission".

EDIT:
here is the the transcript of the clean-up operation ;-)

14. "To do the Bush"
Used mostly by Salarymen when they head for the train after a night of drinking and hurl all that Kirin in the gutter...

Had a ReTHUG accuse me of lieing a few years ago over that. He claimed it never happened, and I was trying to foment a Liberal Plot to embarrass Poppy...
I asked him if he watched TV, because that's where I saw it.

the thread of Poppy lying on the grass with the two dogs and caption is that he asks for Barb because he wants a 3 dog night.

8. It was a power blow, too
projectile vomiting

Junior is trying hard to outdo him forign policy-wise, but still has yet to do better than vomiting in another head-of-state's lap.

21. I don't think it was the flu
I thought at the time the white house physician said that Bush was prone to taking Zanex or the like to calm him from overseas travel and to help him sleep at night. Couple that with the fact that George liked to drink Gin in his water glass...

A friend of mine used to cater in the Houston area. He served Bush at the main table one night and 41's "water glass" was to be kept filled all evening...

23. You bet it happened. Bush One was carried from the room...
With a pair of X's for eyes, out as cold as a carp. The badness of spitting up on the Japanese P.M. during a state dinner aside, this event made Bush One look weak and feeble.

Anyone remember Jimmy Carter fainting while jogging, and the media stink over that? Well, this episode with Bush was worse. Much worse.
