Good web hosting sites?

Our county democratic committee has a web site now with Yahoo. It was the first attempt and now it seems to be going pretty well. But I'm not thrilled with Yahoo and I was wondering if anyone can recommend another place.

Since we're a small group I currently am paying for the service monthly on one of my credit cards. Are there any sites that let you pay for, say, 6 months in advance by check? Our committee doesn't have a credit card.

Very reasonable and their tech support is incredible. It's pretty much 24/7 and if they're not there, they'll get back to you within an hour. And they'll stay on the phone for as long as it takes to explain something. I think it's $89/year if you pay in advance.

You can sign up for up to two years at a whack. They even give you discounts if you do it that way. They'll even register your domain for free when you sign up. I pay a year at a time for $7.95/mo.

I don't know if they take checks, but you can ask them.

I get 500MB storage, 30GB transfer/mo., cgi-bin (my site runs on Perl - let me know if you want to use my scripts), POP3 web-based email, and a whole lot of other kewl stuff. It beats Yahoo! all to hell.
