Lottery Winner's Wife Regrets $314.9 million Ticket

Since winning the lottery two years ago, her husband, Jack Whittaker, has been arrested twice for drunken driving and has been ordered into rehab. He pleaded no contest Monday to a misdemeanor assault charge for attacking a bar manager, and is accused in two lawsuits of making trouble at a nightclub and a racetrack.

There have been several thefts involving Whittaker's vehicle, his office and his house in Scott Depot. One of the thefts occurred at his home in September on the same day an 18-year-old friend of Whittaker's granddaughter was found dead there. The death remains under investigation.

Last week Whittaker, 57, reported his granddaughter missing. Putnam County sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Arthur said the granddaughter is not considered a kidnapping victim.

8. Why can't people with a social conscience--a cause-- ever win?

While I'd set aside enough to live comfortably (but not wealthily) for myself and my family members, I'd immediately establish one or more foundations for the bulk of the $$-- that were irrevocably targeted at specific foundation objectives and could not be used for anyone's personal use.

What is really sad to me is when very very young people win, who almost never have the maturity to deal with it. Then they use it to try to bulk up their self-esteem and disaster almost always results.

Every time I see someone win, it's some old people with a paid-off house who really don't need the money all that much. I'd be very happy if a young person would win once in a while.

and took it back to her village and used it to build wells for clean water, a health clinic, houses for everybody, etc. I hate it when two retired doctors or lawyers win a hundred mil. What a waste!
