1. Uptown on a weekend is always a hoot.
(I used to work half a mile from Uptown by Lake Calhoun. I live in Fargo now, but I still make the trip down twice a month.)

OK, so if you want a less drunk and crazy atmosphere on a Saturday night than downtown but still with the urban flava, I would suggest for restaurants: Sushi Tango in Calhoun Square (excellent Japanese food) The original Famous Dave's in Calhoun Square (best B-B-Q I've ever been B-B-to) and for more of a take-out flavour, Chipotle (Mexican place by the lake) has kick-ass burritos. For cinema, the Uptown Theatre has independent films on one screen, while the Lagoon has five or six screens with a mix of new independent and high-budget movies.

If you want to venture downtown, check out the new Block E on Hennepin by the Target Center. There's a new Hard Rock Cafe, Border's Books, etc. There's a LOT of good restaurants on Hennepin if you want to go downtown. Copeland's (Cajun) and Rock Bottom Brewery (Standard fare) are both the shiz-nite. There's Broadway-esque theatres in the theatre district on Hennepin, strip joints on Washington Ave. near I-94 (IF you go for that:-)), and upscale shopping at Gavidaae Common in the CBD.

Have fun!!!! Now I'm off to Quizno's to get my sub and soup. Gourmet dining, Fargo-style...

They were here in Indy for the rib burnoff, I'm surely doin' the BBQ...

I heard The Fine Line had a fire but is rebuilt and cooler than ever...

This is my first time back in 7 years, so I'm looking forward to it!
