McDonalds around the World

Things that McDonalds has around the world, but not in the US. I can't post photos of everything, but I just find it so interesting. Israel even has a McFalafel! Look around! The Grilled Chicken on flatbread from the UK looks good, and they even have donuts covered in cadbury chocolate! The Apple Milkshake from South Africa sounds interesting.

1. We have the Kiwiburger...

... not Kiwi meat of course (they are endangered, and are the national symbol - it would be like having the bald eagle burger!). Just a burger with a slab of beetroot (picked beets).

Good ol' beetroot. Everything was like being through the looking glass - kind of what you're used to but just a bit off. I ordered a club sandwich at the hotel and it had a fried egg on it. Well, when in Rome...

6. I have been abroad many times...

but I must say, I have never been to a non-american McDonalds. I went to native mom and pop places and nice restraunts just because, but next time I am abroad, I will have to go to McDonalds once and see what is different!

7. I lived in Germany for three years

and never went to McDonalds. However, once, while chaperoning a group from my high school, the students wanted to go, so I went with them. They were surprised to see beer on the menu, but I was not. The funny thing, however, was that our German bus driver kept referring to McDonalds as "the American Embassy." Now, that I find humorous.

I spent three years at the Martin Luther University in Halle (Saale). Halle is about 40 km northwest of Leipzig.

First year I lived in the small town of Büdingen, then for the rest of my time, I lived in Hanau. Both are within 30 miles of Frankfurt.

9. I don't patronize McDonald's, but when I did...

It was nice to have a beer (France and Spain). It was the healthiest item on the menu.

Just my opinion: anyone who frequents McDonald's in any of these countries, given the fabulous food choices available, has to be very lazy indeed.

In Greece they sell Amstel...and you can smoke inside.
Nothing like standing in line for fries drinking a beer and having a cig.

20. In Russia

they had a whole cherry themed dessert menu with cherry mcflurries and cherry pies BUT the best part about the pies was that they were fried (like they used to be in the US!).

My Russian friends ALWAYS wanted to go to McDs...it was kinda annoying, but whatever.

21. I was in Tallinn, Estonia a few years ago

The McD I saw had posters for something called the McFarmer. It looked like the Big Xtra (Big & Tasty, whatever), but you really gotta love that name.

The one we usually go to is the one that has a safari theme. You can get lots of fancy deserts and foods there beyond the regular McDonald's menu.

I guess we also live right near the motorcycle themed restaurant, but we always go to the other one. It's easier to get to in terms of traffic flow.
