I used to, but since I have a cell phone and iPod, wearing a watch is pretty useless.

Funny how I fell out of shapr AFTER I bought it.

7. Nope. The bands scratch the laptop and make my wrist sit funny on the

wrist rest. I used to have a nurse's pin watch - pinned to shirt, hung upside down so you can just look down and watch it - but it died.

Between the cell, the PDA, the iPod and the clocks in the house, a watch is useless unless I'm going out someplace and not taking that stuff. Then I wear the Fossil my sister gave me for Xmas a year or two ago.

wife has 6-10, everything from a 30's elgen's and bulavas to a "rollo", a BAD fake rolex- got it in a box of stuff at a estate sale, looks and built like a giveaway watch from a fast food place!

...why should I, when we're freakin' Surrounded by clocks wherever we go? And anyway, wearing a watch makes you a slave to time and yet unaware of it simultaneouly; how many times have you checked your watch, only to check it again moments later? :)

Besides, EVERYBODY wants you to know what time it is...you can hardly get away from it:

Your stove, microwave, even toaster oven might sport a digital clock; your VCR/DVD player does, so does your PC. Your alarm Clock(!) and/or Clock Radio.

If you have a PDA, there's another one...your car, certainly.

Stores have clocks, town squares have clocks...the bank may have a clock. Train stations and bus stations...

If you don't know what time it is...you're just not paying attention.

It's a Suunto Observer, the best "watch" I've ever owned. Besides being a great watch and altimeter, it's got lots of other functions that are real useful if you're into hiking.

After my trusty Timex Indiglo gave up the ghost, my cousin got me a pocket watch a few years ago and I carried it until I got a cell phone for Christmas -- which I now carry with me whenever I'm out (set for vibrate only, of course!).

If I'm at the PC, the time's right there in the bottom-right corner (synchronized by SocketWatch, naturally).

If I look over at the TV, there's a clock sitting on top.

If I'm cooking up some delicious and nutritious Jiffy Mac, there's a clock on the microwave.

If I'm happily burning up a pizza, there's a clock on the oven display.

Clocks, clocks, everywhere clocks. All I need now is a tag sewn in my underwear saying, "My name is _____. If found, please return me to..."

And that's fast. I like them, too, but every watch I get goes bad quickly - ("When Watches Go Bad - sounds like an episode of Montel). They either break or they die (and it's never the battery) or I lose them.

So I use my cell phone.

I hate quartz watches.I have a nice lady elgin from 1897 that keeps wonderful time.I love old watches.I have a ton of wind ups.Everything from the old ingersol mickey mouse to some nice art deco ones.I like the ritual of winding it up and hearing the ticking.I dont know why but thats soothing to me.

I always liked very small, unobtrusive watches, but then got me a Suunto altimax with altimeter (for cycling), barometer, three alarms, counter and stuff. Although I rarely use these features in office ;), I just grew accustomed to that watch.

I really like watches, but i'm not a Rolex or Heuer type of guy. Those things are too expensive and seem like conspicuous consumption.

I wear Seiko or Citizen (both Japanese watches, if one buys their higher line) take a serious beating and always keep good time.

The one i wear most often is a titanium Seiko with a real cool gray face. Simple, but elegant. Not too big and ostentatious, but big enough to easily read with a glance.

I've got two other Seiko's (although one needs a new crystal because i had a "duh" with the doggie). And i've got 2 Citizens. Total of 5. Three is silver or stainless, two in gold.

My most recent one is a gold Seiko that i got for my 25 years with the company award. Really nice looking watch, but i don't think it's from their top shelf product line. My guess is probably around $$200 watch at retail, but hey it was an award, so i'll take it!

42. That's funny. I just bought a new watch about 40 minutes ago.

The $30 watch I had been wearing for the last 5 years broke last night.

When I got off of the train this morning, I walked into Marshall Field's on State and bought a $40 watch, which was on sale...AND...I had a coupon for 20% off. I ended up paying $24 for it. It's cool. Wide black leather band and a square brushed aluminum face.

I'm stylin' for the Holidays.
