Try to interpret what is being shown: Recognise the apparent age of the figure in the full military battle gear. Recognise him holding the AK-47. Recognise him in a pair of glass hands with the creepy fundamentalist religious description on it. Do some research on the Crusades. Then try to put all the pieces together.

I think its a damned shame they got their benefits cut, how much the veterans suffer, I think the GI Bill was a great thing, plus one of the reasons I opposed this war was because I feared for how those soldiers would have to suffer.

20. This has NOTHING to do with

respect for the military!!! It has everything to do with how they are marketing the Iraq invasion, making it all soft and fluffy and respectable for the masses. This marriage of religion and war is extremely disturbing, just as disturbing as militant Islamicists being trained to kill Westerners under the subtext of religion. Fundamentalism is at the root of many of the world's woes, whether it is Christianity or Islam.

Also, do you believe that what looks to be a little child is an accurate depiction of a soldier. I find it disturbing to depict children with guns in their hands, which is why I posted that Palestinian child. Children shouldn't be taught to be killers.

War is not sweet and innocent, and I'm sure God isn't really thrilled with being used to sell a war in light of that pesky little commandment: "Thou shall not kill." I didn't see any conditions placed on that. And if you would like to argue that sometimes war is necessary, I will be happy to provide documentation from a number of religious groups who objected to this invasion as well as proof that this did not fit within the guidelines of a "just war."

And if you truly did respect the military, you would be outraged at the manner in which it is being used. I respect the military so much that I am out in the streets vehemently protesting them being sent to Iraq as pawns in PNAC's global chess game and to enhance the profits of Halliburton and all of the BFEE's other corporate friends.

Tell me again how needlessly sending them to their deaths, getting them injured or polluting their bodies with depleted uranium is "respectful." And after you are done with that, would you please outline your argument here that we are being disrespectful to the military in specific detail. I don't see any evidence of that. Poking fun at a figurine for reasons we all can see and you apparently can't doesn't cut it.
