Poll question: Favourite Peter Sellers movie. |
|
I love Peter Sellers - he's up there with Peter Cook and Peter Ustinov as one of my all-time favourite Comic Actors called Peter.

The few times I'm made posts in honor of him they've sunk like Kate Moss's cheeks. :(

The Two-Way Stretch. Both English films - I think both in black and white.
There was a wonderful character actress called Irene Handel in both of them, too. What a gem! And I've never heard an actor with a more perfect cockney accent than Sellars' in The Two-Way Stretch.

'The Optimists'
Saw this once in a theater long ago and it affected me deeply. It was sad and sweet. Very little dialogue, IIRC, but powerful.

Clouseau: Does your dog bite? Hotel Clerk: No. Clouseau: Nice doggie.
(Dog barks and bites Clouseau in the hand)
Clouseau: I thought you said your dog did not bite! Hotel Clerk: That is not my dog.

... was there a Peter Sellers version? Or am I confusing him with Woody Allen?

I also love any of the Pink Panther movies....the "Do you have a la-sanse for your minkey" scene is very nearly the funniest thing ever filmed....
