Then, as I got a little older, I learned to appreciate more of the things I had always rejected. I look back on my earlier days and shudder to think how close-minded I was.

Mostly it was peer pressure, I think. I hated all the bands I was supposed to hate, dismissed all the girls that weren't "perfect" and, in the end, missed so much of life's richness in my prime.

If I could revisit my teenage, I hope that I would be a very different person.
