Why are electronic gadgets considered

I have always loved electronic gadgets. When I was a kio and a new catalog came in the mail the first part I went to was not the clothes or dolls but the section for TVs, stereos and tape players.

1. I don't understand many of those bases on gender things

Yesterday someone was looking for gift suggestions for 2 girls and a boy - a number of people suggested books "for the girls - I don't know what you should get the boy." :wtf: Why are books a gift for girls and not for boys?

2. The books for girls thing feeds into the

stereotype that girls are good at reading and English while boys are more suited to math and science.


HELLO! In order to be good at math and science one must first be ABLE TO READ!!!!

I was told from the time I was a little girl that I should not get too upset about not being good at math because "girls are good at English." Is that so that we know how to type a letter that we will not sign?

3. Yes my husband thought it was silly when I said

I want a Nintendo Game Cube for Christmas. He said, "What are you going to do with that?"
