Most of you probably have no idea who this guy is. Well, I mean, neither do I. Cartoon Network shows promos for their new show "Tom Goes to the Mayor," and one of them has an overly dramatic song (cracks me up everytime) sung by this guy who, at the end of the promo, we learn has died recently.

Anyone know what the story is there? I have a suspicion that it's all a put-on. Google turns up little, but a "memorial" website:
