David Letterman made a comment about Katie Couric replacing Rather on CBS

Please tell me this was a joke?! The actually joke though was "Why would she leave a great position and a successful show at NBC to come to CBS?" Obviously a reference to Letterman himself, not a joke that Couric would replace Rather. Couric isn't a journalist. The idea of her replacing Rather is absurd and an insult to the profession (not that it hasn't been insulted enough already).

I did a google search, but couldn't come up with any news stories or information. Can someone give me more info?

The Daily Show had clips of it and spliced in some footage of some guys who were cave-dwelling. The inside walls of the cave looked like the inside walls of her intestines. For a minute you actually thought some dudes were walking around inside her colon.

Pure comedy gold.

In all fairness though I understand she slammed Ann Coulter on her show (and might actually be a dem if I'm not mistaken).
