I want the ten albums that you could not bear to take out of rotation on the old CD player/record player or whatever.

3. Tough not to include the Pogues

But the breadth of their work is what really reaches out to me and not one particular album. That is why I want to get the Very Best of the Pogues CD (my tape screwed up). Almost got in Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart by Camper Van Beethoven. But I choose Blood Sex Sugar Magik mainly because I partied to that album so much in my life. There are so many memories attached to that album.

I'm really getting to love their 80s work. Their 90s work was very commendable, and at times, brave (Achtung Baby, and Pop were very different), but their 80s songs, especially "Bad", is phenomenal.

Sting is a fantastic, fantastic lyricist. And his voice is quite beautiful. His music is a little mellower than I'd like sometimes (sigh...the Police!) but it's so obvious he taught English and loves language. What an artist.

Why should I cry for you, one of my all time faves. All This Time...fantastic writing there.

17. 1.James-Laid 2.U2-Achtung Baby 3.Jeff Buckley...

1.U2-Unforgettable Fire/Joshua Tree (I didn't *want* to fill my list with all U2, LOL, so either of those)

2.James-Laid. I really enjoyed this album, bought it for the title track, but there are others that are very good.

3.Dave Matthews Band-Under the Table and Dreaming. Awesome.

4.Bob Marley-Legend. Every single song on it is a treasure. I have listened to this CD over and over and over again for weeks.

5.Jeff Buckley-Grace. We lost a great one in Jeff.

6. The Smiths-Louder than Bombs or, Morrissey Viva Hate. That voice could last me.

7. Third Eye Blind-whatever their debut was. Are they the most musically talented guys in the world? Probably not. But the songs are so damn catchy.

8.Soundtrack to The Big Chill. Great mix.

9. Nine Inch Nails-Pretty Hate Machine. "The devil wants to fuck me in the back of his car"? Come ON. You know you love that.

10. U2-Achtung Baby. I've listened to that CD so much sometimes I just listen to hear Larry's playing, other times to hear Adam...yikes, LOL, I really like them.

14.Smashing Pumpkins, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Corgan is sometimes heavy handed, and his voice sometimes (sometimes!) gets on my nerves, and they really should have done one CD, but there are some masterpieces on it. Thirty Three is just precious.
