Why can't I open my present NOW if I already know what I'm getting?

My mother had absolutely no idea what to get me for Christmas, so she just said "Order what you want!" which I did. It's this really cool shoulder bag that I'll use once school starts.

But...she won't let me open it now! What the bloody hell? I ordered it, I signed for it, and so it's not like she wants me to be surprised. But no, she is all "I want to wrap it and have you open it on Christmas!"

What's the point? I want it now. It's not like it will make me happier to open it then. If anything, I'll enjoy it less because I'm going to be annoyed about it now. :shrug:

4. Haha! i did the same thing with my daughter.....

She wanted to go shopping and pick the things out herself because we have different taste. So we did. She wanted to wear one of the things yesterday. I said no and wrapped them all up. I just didn't want her to not have a single thing to open on Christmas! She might be thinking she has more to open or something and then be disappointed that she doesn't. It didn't seem to bother her too much to wait.

It was either this way or money at Christmas. Which is better to you?
