News for Lord of the Rings Fans

Sean Astin, who played Hobbit Samwise Gamgee will be the King of the Bacchus parade in New Orleans on February 6th. Mardi Gras is coming early this year (8 February) and the Bacchus parade will fall on Super Bowl Sunday. Each NFL team will be represented by a float, with the Saints, of course, leading the way, followed by the two teams in the Super Bowl. (I know, I'm assuming the Saints won't make the Super Bowl). The floats will have TVs with the Super Bowl broadcasting and float riders will be holding up signs with the games score to keep parade goers updated. Parade organizers hope the Super Bowl doesn't cut into turnout too bad. Last year's King, Elijah Wood, will be riding on a Returning King's Float.
