1. No...............
but who cares? The fundies and Disney both exist in alternate, warped realities.

2. I do
My mom is a closet fundie. My aunt and she were planning a trip to Disney World last spring but suddenly cancelled it. When we asked why, she said, oh, you know, there are terrorist threats out there. I thought that sounded a bit wacko but I didn't realize that the fundies were boycotting it. We should boycott it too, but for different reasons.

My guess is this was sparked by some of those fundie oriented theme parks to increase their own profits. Lets face it - no matter how much crap they get away with under this administration, they are never satisfied and only grow more sanctimonious.

3. Funny story
I'm a long time employee and contract artist for the Mouse. years ago, when the fundies first started to boycott (because Disney allowed gay partners on insurance claims) a fundie colleague of mine was going to a huge Baptist church near Disney World where the minister was spearheading the boycott effort.a national news organization did a story about the boycott, and filmed my co-worker at the Baptist church walking around with the donation plate. My co-worker (who held a high profile at Disney) was easily recognised by Micheal Eisner and Roy Disney. After the story was broadcast, my colleague found himself a little less in favor by the Disney brass. He didn't help himself by writing angry letters about the "leftist liberal environmentalism" in "Pocahontas" either-a film he was working on at the time!

4. What? ANOTHER one?
It seems like there's usually a fundy boycott of the Mouse. Generally, it's about "Gay and Lesbian Day" at Disneyland or benefits to same-sex partners; sometimes, it's about a film to be released by Miramax that drives the Religious Right nuts (Priest or Dogma).

A few years ago, I heard about one of these boycotts, and was moved to immediately stop at Blockbuster and rent the first Disney cartoon I'd seen in decades (The Lion King, FWIW) as an anti-boycott.

5. I don't buy Disney
but not for any fundie reasons. I just think it's another big faceless fucking corporation that takes advantage of universally loved images to sell pre-packaged "fun" to kids, or rather to their parents. Commercialism and consumptive culture at its finest. It's just a kinder, gentler indoctrination.
