that England has given us, namely, the English language! I've been told by English friends that we misuse this gift terribly, but you're not supposed to carp about how someone else uses what you give them. :P

I would also add trial by jury, the Tudor era choral composers, the twentieth century choral composers, the Episcopal church, BBC dramas, and some fantastic mystery writers.
