4. Thanks Jitter for the heads up.....just read your e-mail friend!
Let me tell you I am thrilled for you to be meeting your beautiful Riley Ann....a precious gift she is, like her great grandmother...boy that's hard to believe one who loves Bob Dylan...guess we are aging friend, but always in style with our love in our time with great music. I can't wait to see pictures.

A big thank you DemFan for thinking of me and Cappurr too!

Life has been rather down right now for me...my health is on a balancing act again. With Hashimotos' Disease most of you know I have done things to improve my life but had to go backwards getting there. Going through different surgeries caused by my disease but I should feel better once the lab results tell me where my TSH levels should be not to feel hypo and my most recent ones is I am very hypo. I dropped estrogen completely and it did havoc to my thyriod levels. I'm toughing out alot of symptons of hypothyriodism and it's been rough even to be at the computer long.

I have pooked in and out for some good reasons when friends ask, that's when you see my name here and there...but I do look forward to joining you all once again feeling well and not so exhausted.

So guys I'll be back when I'm able to throw out some great threads again, I miss the conversing with you all so stick together friends and be here when I return!

Peace and Love To All DUers!:loveya:

9. Hey, I'm hypothyroid too!
I found out about six months ago after five years of misdiagnosis and suffering. I finally got a doctor who didn't just chalk it up to depression and stress

Don't let them treat you only based on TSH. You can have normal TSH and still be very hypo. Make sure the do a Free T4 and Free T3 test as well. I had normal TSH and Free T4, but extremely low Free T3. Some people don't convert the Synthroid into T3 and stay hypo until they get Armour Thyroid or Thyrolar which contain T3 as well as T4.

My doctor just switched me to Armour and I can hardly believe the difference. I was really skeptical, even though many of the hypothyroid sufferers I know swear by it. But Synthroid wasn't doing anything for me and my T3 levels just kept dropping. I've been on Armour now for about a month and I actually have enough energy to exercise again.

Knowing you, I'm sure you're pretty well educated about your condition, but if you need any info, please let me know. When I was diagnosed, I went a little beserk finding out everything I could about Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism. I probably drive my doctor crazy, though he'd never admit it. I just like to be super-informed. :-)

Hope you feel better soon!

10. Thanks Susang...I posted this earlier today
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=117&topic_id=906

I was the same way on Synthyriod not converting the T4 to the T3.Sounds like you had alot of luck with your doctor, unfortunately I didn't at first..been through three Endos' til I found one willing to work with me and prescribed Armour. She's from Vietnam and I put her on the Top List of Doctors' on Mary's support site. I read more then post on her site but there's a great support system there, you may know about it already. Sounds like you are on your way Lady...I can't wait to be there myself.

Thanks for your post and everyone else with the great friendships you have given me....
you all are the best! :hi: :loveya:

12. I'm glad you got a top doc
I don't post much on that group but I do read it every day. I wouldn't have known to ask my doctor about specific tests and Synthroid alternatives otherwise. I'm glad you found someone to put you on Armour. It's really made a difference to me. I don't know how long you've been on it, but it took about 3 weeks for me to start noticing the difference.

I'm confident you will feel better soon. I had to quit my job a few weeks ago because with all my fatigue and depression, I just couldn't handle it anymore. I called it my little nervous breakdown. :-) It turned out being the best thing I could have done for my health. I had looked at changing my life because of my health as a weakness and it turned out that my true weakness was my unwillingess to take care of myself. Boy am I glad that changed! :-)

Anyway, post when you feel like it and let us know how you're doing. This whole hypo thing really sucks. Sometimes people just don't understand how bad it can feel because the symptoms can be so vague and the prevailing attitude is "get over it". I just don't listen to anyone who is not supportive, any negativity just makes me worse. Hopefully, you do the same.
