6. WHERE MR. MCGOO'S "A CHRISTMAS CAROL"

At least it followed the book, it had a young boy (AS IN THE BOOK) as the ghost of Christmas past, not a woman like the rest of the movies (OK being a Cartoon all they had to do was DRAW a young boy, not try to get a young boy with 20 years acting experience, which is why women have ALWAYS played the role of Christmas Past).

Of the Movie versions I perfer George C Scott's but I like McGoo's the best.

In fact, all the Mr. Magoo versions of classic literature were good.

Actually, the Ghost of Christmas Past is described as being of indeterminate age and sex from what I remember.

If we're going with live actors, I think Alistair Sim is probably the best.

In the Alistair Sim version, the Ghost of Christmas Past was played by a man in a long White Wig...definitely not a woman.

I just checked. It was called "An American Christmas Carol". It was like the original but based in America during the great depression. I knew it was something like that.

That version is wonderful.

18. Alistair Sim's performance is the Gold Standard.

And I'm not just saying that 'cause it was filmed in the year I was born, so I grew up watching it. :)

But the Reginald Owen version had the better Marley -- Leo G. Carroll
