How do you stop a unit of measurement? How would you stop distance?

Technically if you could move a the speed of light, time would stop for you. If somehow you can go faster than the speed of light, then you would be going backwards in time. Also if you were faster than the speed of light, it would be harder for you to slow down than it would for you to speed up. So without resisting it, you would speed up infinitely and your mass would wither away...all while going backwards in time.

Scientists theorize about particles like this; they're called tachyonic particles.

So you could stop time just for you, but it's not going to effect anybody else. You could even go backward (theoretically).

Time is a matter of perspective and relativity. It's a measurement, not a tangible thing. Time's Arrow isn't actually in motion, but the fact that entropy stops us from reversing the moment makes it appear that way.
