if it works on leather. If not, the cleaners. I would also try wiping it with a very damp rag now and see if you can get the smell out.

15. Cats have incredible sense of smell. Leather often tanned with urea.

Cat smells residue from tanning process that humans usually can't smell. Cats sometimes decide to 'override' the piss from the tanning process with their own scent marking. Cat is actually trying to protect you and your possessions from someone else's 'scent mark' in the view of the cat.

Keep the leather goods where the cat cannot be offended by the 'other scent mark' and it will help.

As to the problem of the present condition of your boots, ask around at a good pet supply store. There are some good products out there now for killing the oder. But be advised, just cuz something no longer smells to your feeble human nose, do not assume it is now cat proof.

lots of varibles: tanning processes, some better than others, some more some less oder, and the territiorial bent of dog individuals...

Had a dog that would pee on sister's boyfriend's jacket, whether leather or not. Just didn't like the guy. Turned out, sis should have trusted dog's judgement.

Leather tanning is a strange and smelly process. Dogs and particularly cats, can find the whole thing offensive. Would be careful about investing in leather furniture if you have this problem with a dog or cat and coat/boots ;)

Cat pee is powerful and long-lasting. One of mine peed on a chair of mine. I bought all kinds of enzyme stuff and miracle cleaners and, after they all dried, the chair still smelled like cat pee. I wanted to kill the cat, but I never figured out which one it was and have since forgiven it because they haven't done it since. If she kept it up, however, she would be gone. I don't make enough money to replace furniture regularly.

But you could try hanging up your coat :)

25. He had previously peed on my couch and I had to throw the couch out

and get a new couch. I have been confining the little devil to the kitchen when I'm not at home to avoid such expensive diasters.

Somehow he slipped past me this time.

He is a loveable cat, but makes statements by pissing on stuff.

I'm not rich either - so he's completely on probation at this point.

If anyone is thinking of getting a cat, they need to seriously consider what they would do if stuff like this happened.
