Poll question: So you call in a pizza to be delivered, and the guy who takes your order

...says, "The driver will call you in 20 minutes for directions." After all, this is a place that guarantees delivery in less than 50 minutes from the time your order is taken.

You sit and wait, and an hour and fifteen minutes later, you call the pizza place back to see what the reason is for the delay. They tell you that they only have two drivers,because one called in sick, and that as soon as a driver gets back, they'll tell him to call you. You ask, "Will the pizza even be hot?" The person assures you it will. :eyes:

So you wait. And you wait. Twenty minutes later...

Of course I don't actually run a call-a-pizza business, I just happen to have a telephone number previously owned by a pizza service. (if the money is right, I might mail a few frozen pizzas).

5. It's not a big name pizza joint...

a locally owned one. The pizza actually sucks...they bought out a Little Ceasars, so it is basically Little Ceasars with a local name...but they deliver, so we eat sucky pizza because I don't feel like driving.

Anyway, no matter if the same delivery person has delivered twenty times to you, he or she still calls for directions. :shrug:

Why didn't they tell you when you called that there would be a two hour delay b4 you got your order???? I would cancel on that fact alone. I never have pizza delivered, I always pick it up at the local independent pizza parlor.

10. That's the way I do it...

I call and place an order for pickup, they say it'll be ready in 20 minutes. In ten minutes, I'm in the car on the way to the pizza place.

It's always hot when I get it home...no 'pizza jerky' for me, thanks. (to the originator of that one -- *nice phrase* btw)

I've got a half dozen pizza places in walking distance from my house. If one doesn't give me the service I've requested, then I call another.
