LOS ANGELES "Entertainment Tonight" is reporting that George Carlin is entering a drug rehablitiation facility. The 67-year-old comic said _ quoting now _ "I'm going into rehab because I use too much wine and Vicodin."
Carlin says he recognized he was in trouble and he decided on his own to enter rehab.

Carlin told "Entertainment Tonight": "No one told me I needed this. I recognized the problem and took the step myself."

Carlin performs his stand-up comedy in Las Vegas showrooms and is currently the author of the best-selling Hyperion book "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?." He says he's never been treated in a rehabilitation facility.

His acting credits include "With Six You Get Eggroll," "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" and "Jersey Girl" with Ben Affleck.

for him.

I read somewhere that by the time he finally got himself straightened out from all his drug problems in order to be a good husband to her...she was sick with cancer and she died.

All those years she stuck by him in spite of his problems and then she dies....it would be enough to make him turn to the bottle and pills again.
