Bud's pecker bumps, need some help...

ok so Ive got this friend and hes super shy. Hes in his mid 30s and has noticed an irregular little bump on the base of his penis. Its not inflamed or itchy but is sort of dense and has an odd shape about it, its also little less than the size of a halfed peppercorn.

He doesnt want to talk to his family doc about it, hes an old repub. He doesnt even know what kind of doctor to see about it (I think its a urologist) and doesnt want to show his "thing" to a male doctor that he doesnt know...

any ideas, suggestions or stuff?

and no its not me, I'd probbaly just clip it off with fingernail clippers and spray it with an empty airbrush with the propel upside down. Cause Im loco like that... and personally I dont really care who sees my privates.

there are excellent topical antiviral treatments available now & freezing/burning/surgery is usu not needed for men, *IF* the condition is treated before it spreads. neglect is a *VERY* bad idea, it will spread quickly to the periannal area & the more it spreads, the harder it is to remit.

Also you and so many others seem to think just because someone is a grown man they should have no shyness or ill considerations towards being medically examined.

I have no compunctions about going to a doctor if I have to. Many many MANY others do though, so maybe everyone else should just get over the fact that some people just dont have an easy time getting over it.

I mean this guy is fun, smart, considerate but has a bit of a hang up about seeing doctors... yeesh. His family practitioner is out btw he really doesnt like him and his politics and yes that will matter to him.

Ingrown hairs don't necessarily fill up with pus. Honestly, the way you describe the irregular shape, it sounds like a genital wart. I really want to hit Google Images but I know it would make me throw up. That's all your friend has to do though--type "genital warts" or "HPV" into Google images and then compare. And try not to retch.

36. Don't go the "internet pic" route. He needs to see a doctor. A urologist

or a dermatologist preferably.

It's too easy to obssessively look at this pics and try to self diagnose, either worrying into "I have horrible condition X" or delude onself into "I have benign condition Y".

Good or bad, it's better to KNOW. Dermatologist is not a bad candidate either, used to looking at all skin stuff including STDs and cancers.

It could be just a sebaceous cyst, but it could be a host of other things.

He could just see a general practitioner. Remind him if it IS something more serious, his embarrassment will cause him greater problems down the road.

Tell him it'll be not a thang to show it to a doctor. They are professionals. They don't point and laugh.

41. I would NOT take the advice of scaring this guy to death. I think he is

more likely to seek appropriate medical attention if he is REASSURED that whatever it is, something, or nothing, everything will be much better, and he will rest much easier, if he KNOWS what his diagnosis is and receives appropriate treatment.

The "scare" business is much less likely to get him to the doctor. He's probably terrified as it is.

found online. He did want me to research a bit or ask around... but yeah no self diagnosis is possible with this as it looks like at least thre different things from what I can remember.
