What the heck is wrong with my cats?

All three haven't slept more than two or three hours in the past 48, Puck has been following me everywhere, and wants to be held constantly. Miro-age 15-has been galloping around the house! Oberon has been lying next to my head at night, but every time I open my eyes, he's awake, just watching. Puck wants to be under the covers, but she's up and down all night. Aren't cats supposed to sleep 60% of the day? What's going on with these guys? Anyone else have oddly behaving pets right now?

1. WHERE do you LIVE?

My cats freaked out just before the Loma Prieta earthquake...they went berserk. They kept looking at me like I was an idiot and just DID NOT GET IT. Then, they ran and hid, and the house started shaking to beat the band. A week later, still without power, they finally calmed down.

Ensure your larder is stocked and you have plenty of fresh water on hand.

they didn't act like this before the hurricanes (we had three in my area this year). I just don't know why they won't settle down!

I went to a friend's home for Christmas. Chose not to decorate this year, because Oberon and Puck are under two years old and can't be trusted with decorations yet!

I remember being on a farm right before a small earthquake in Ohio when I was a kid. All the pets and livestock went NUTS just a few minutes prior to the earthquake, but their odd behavior didn't last a whole day.

I haven't really been paying attention; I know the death toll from the Tsunami is fairly horrific, but when did the earthquake that caused it happen? Kitties have been nuts since Christmas night, at least (I was away Christmas day).

sounds like they might be sensitive to it. sweet they turn to you like that. trust.

13. My 12-year-old cat went crazy-athletic tonight

He has been more active in the past hour than he has in three months.

This fall, he had a urinary tract infection that had him freaked out and paranoid. He was nearly 100% withdrawn for weeks before he began to warm up again. Then, he suddenly became afraid of being on the floor -- honestly, he didn't want to get off the furniture, and when I put him down there, he'd walk around like a kid in a haunted house.

He's been getting gradually more normal over the past couple months, but he still makes the walk from the food dish to the front room like he's afraid of land mines. And he's always got this "I see dead people" look on his face.

Anyway, he's still a mental case, but tonight he totally jacked up a couple of tinsel-ball toys that are his sister's favorites.

I'm in Denver, so I don't suspect any kind of natural disaster here, but it is just past full moon and all...

Another question: How well are YOU sleeping? Do you talk in your sleep? Is it possible you have sleep apnea, and they're worried about YOU?

21. I was gone for about eight hours, so that's not

unusual.I have CFS, so I never sleep well. Florida has always been a mess-more so since Jebby took over. I'd love to move-even back to the cold tundra of the Northern states! But no money, so no moving. :-(

23. It's hard to say...

I have had cats for decades, and I can't remember one that wasn't nuts. But of course, I've loved them all. The thing is, felines are just naturally freaky. Sometimes I think it's that nine lives thing. Perhaps when they start getting older they forget which number they're on, and it makes them nervous. :-)

the massive eco-enviro disasters worldwide. They, like us, are of the earth and therefore are in tune with it.......my critter always acts weird when there's a massive enviro-eco fuck up going down. Seriously.
