Finally saw the remake of "The machurian candidate"

I thought the casting of Liev Schreiber as Raymond was spot on and Meryl Streep was also very good but overall it can't hold a candle to the original. The brainwashing scenes were very disappointing imo.

1. I agree with your assessment....and I also saw the remake of Stepford

Wives. Also VERY disappointed in that one.

2. Yes, Stepford was a tad to campy for me

and the original brainwashing scenes in candidate were so well done and way ahead of their time in terms of dialogue and i also thought the Demarco role was for better played by Frank Sinatra.
