OK, I work in a small office, and none of us are big coffee drinkers. I usually come in the door with coffe, and that's the only cup I drink, and the others are out of the office so much, the coffee pot collects dust. Well, this afternoon I needed a kick. So, I went to make coffee. The pot was clean, but when I opened the compartment where the coffee goes, it seems that the last person to make coffee just left it. Old, nasty grounds growing green and white stuff. I cleaned it thoroughly and my coffee is now brewing, but ICK! The funny part - the owner is always bragging on what a clean freak she is.

It was the filter area that was nasty. This is one where you don't throw the filter away...you dump it and wash it. Guess she forgot all about that part.

Of course, she thinks she's economically disadvantaged because she doesn't own a plane.

That's where the "ewwww" part comes in.

I clean the coffee pot in my office...and I'm sort of fussy about it. It's not just cleaning the pot...which is important. Gotta clean the coffee grounds part, also. :-)

9. Here's something weird.

A LOOOOONG time ago I went to San Francisco for a month. I had intended to move there, but things didn't work out, so I came home. Thing was, I drove out with the friend who put me up, but had to take a train back, and my stuff was too heavy, so to avoid a big shipping charge I had to leave about half of my belongings with her.

Fast forward:

Three years later, my friend sent my stuff to me. Among the items was a small coffeemaker, which apparently had been used by someone since I left, as the filter was half-full of grounds and half-full of the most PUNGENT mold I've ever smelled. It was tencaious, too - I never could get the mold smell out of that filter. No biggie, since in the three years wait for my shit I'd already procured a new coffeemaker, but still, YOW.

11. That's almost as bad as

the sippy cup with milk in it behind the couch. My kids had those spring loaded, no drip sippy cups. They were always disappearing. I never milk solidified until I found one of those. I threw the cup away.
