Does anyone Check if you DO NOT wish to use emotion icons in your message

And I don't mean about that thing I did in college. I was experimenting.

Anyway, I hate the emoticons. I feel that like Hallmark cards and swearing they are trite subsitutes for good communication.

3. Checking no to emoticons serves a useful function...

..some long URLs are "spelled" such that the forum software mistakes part of the URL for emoticon code and inserts a damn smilie right in the middle of the web address, thus screwing up the link.
