YOu know - that lil check box at the end of your posting area? I mean, is that the most useless check box in all of DU?

And I don't mean about that thing I did in college. I was experimenting.
Anyway, I hate the emoticons. I feel that like Hallmark cards and swearing they are trite subsitutes for good communication.

..some long URLs are "spelled" such that the forum software mistakes part of the URL for emoticon code and inserts a damn smilie right in the middle of the web address, thus screwing up the link.
