OMG, this is the first loaf of bread I've made that actually looks like

a loaf of bread!!! For the first time I used my 13 year old food processor to knead dough. It was SO EASY. I found a simple food proc. recipe for white bread on the net and used that.

Well, it actualy ROSE the first time, rose in the pan, and rose in the OVEN.....and it LOOKS LIKE REAL BREAD!! I have gazed on it lovingly throughout lunch....

I am in heaven!!!

2. The first time I ever had a loaf of bread that did not LOAF was when I

got my bread maker, kneads, rises and bakes...what a wonderful machine!!!

4. Which bread machine do you have??? I still want to get one,

but in the meantime, I've discovered the joy of the food processor. It only 13 years old!! (Really, bought in 1991 and never realized it could be use for mixing/kneading dough!!)

9. Pretty much all of them work well...

but I've found I rarely use mine. I really don't like the shape of the square loaf with the hole in the bottom, so the most I use it for is mixing and kneading, with the baking done in the oven. I don't even do that much any more, with all of the bakeries around here doing artisan breads much better than I can.

Except for pumpkin bread, though-- the breadmaker is still the best for that.

11. Tis a cheap Super Chef..makes French Bread (or is that Freedom Bread?)

Lists ingredients here are the instructions:

1. Place all ingredients in the pan in the above order.
2. Place pan in machine.
3. Select #7 for small or medium loaves
4. If delay option is desired, press /\ to set timer.
5. Press START. Bread will be done in the number of hours indicated.

Is that difficult or what??? Makes the crustiest French Bread, with a very course, soft warm inner. What a delicacy!!!

prices for angel bread really fluctuates, depends on what the market will bear. Take like a Gabriel bread angel, that would command higher prices if his trumpet is actually portrayed in the bread.

5. Congrats! I have a bread maker and most of my loaves came out

smaller, but normal shape. But, one time I made saffron bread (BIG $$$ SPLURGE for dinner guests) and the damned loaf came out looking just like a giant penis! Seriously. It tasted great, but my face was red all night long--LOL

8. I had that happen once

Beautiful loaf of bread, all tall and golden. Then I sliced the bread and discovered there was a big gap between the bread and the top of the loaf. I'm not kidding. I could put my hand in it. Now if I want fresh-like bread, I buy the frozen loaves. :)

10. Way to go! Yeast is so intimidating!

But ain't it fun when it works! I had a similar experience on Christmas. Mr. Dora wanted a cinnamon sweet roll ring like his mother used to make, so I tried a recipe out of the Joy of Cooking, and it worked like a charm.
