'Singin' in the Rain' Star O'Connor Dies

'Singin' in the Rain' Star O'Connor Dies
LOS ANGELES - Entertainer Donald O'Connor (news), who combined comedy and acrobatics in the show-stopping "Make 'Em Laugh" number in the classic movie "Singin' in the Rain," died Saturday, his daughter said. He was 78.

2. Always liked him. Especially in "Singin in th Rain".
He could sing and dance with the best of them. A true athlete judging by what he did in SITR.
I also liked him in the "Francis the Talking Mule" series. Sure it was dumb but growing up a four channel,B&W TV kid in the 50's-60's it was a great alternative to all the westerns that were clogging the airwaves at the time.

RIP Donald.

They had all of these movies on when I was a kid and I loved them all.

On ABC news they said he was asked once if he minded starring opposite a mule. His answer paraphrased, "Not at all. I've starred opposite other Jackasses in my career." :7

Singing in the Rain has to be the perfect movie musical. Even though I knew he was gone it made me smile a lot to see the Make 'em Laugh clip.
