Is Macafee 2005 works good computer protection? I got a good rebate from Costco. So I bought that instead of Norton2005

Is free and excellent as well. Norton just uses up too many cycles, just sitting there. Causes a real performance hit.

IMHO. They release updates very frequently.
Norton 2006 might be better next year; especially if they get rid of product activation and, more importantly, get back on the ball of releasing antivirus definitions at a proper rate.
