The Blues - on PBS
I've been waiting for this for quite some time and it's finally here! Martin Scorsese starts with his film tonight. There's a new film on for the next 7 nights or so. I'm expecting to see all of my heroes: Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Howlin Wolf, Hooker, Muddy Waters and all of the rest. IMO blues is the best kind of music on the planet, and these are the people who invented it. The blues may have been born in Mississippi, but it grew up in Chicago, and it took a bunch of British guys to bring it to White America. Go figure. This is gonna be great!
The Beatles and The Rolling Stones never hesitated to give credit to the blues greats. Eric Clapton likewise.
What is it about White America? (btw I'm a member)

1. I've already emailed everyone I know
9:30 here. I'll be tired at work tomorrow, but Scorsese is worth it!

2. kick, because the east and midwest should be watching
right about now. It's a 7 part series that starts with Martin Scorsese telling and listening to the early part. Don't miss it!

the one my dad gave me on one of his trips home from overseas - 2 tours in Vietnam.

I love the blues, and I play this harmonica constantly.

edit: corrected number of tours from 3 to 2, but he spent years in Cambodia (officially in Taiwan)
