I got out of it for awhile, and then got back into it about ten years ago. I really got into miniatures and wargaming then, too, and have a small (but decent) collection of miniatures-- most with an oriental/middle-eastern theme.

5. Computer versions primarily these days.

There's something about the fact that I'm a very good gamer (and female) that brings out the freaks, and Mr. Pcat is a well adjusted, though introverted, adult for whom the twinking and power-gaming and rules lawyering is just cause to refill the Valium scrip. So finding a group in which we won't be enticed to murder is hard. Thanks, but really, no... my Elven Archer is absolutely not interested in your Half-Orc barbarian with the 4 Intelligence. That's part of her character, so STOP TRYING TO GET HER ALONE IN THE CAVE. Believe me, she can kill you faster than you can add 1+1. (Okay, I feel better now.)

So we play a lot of Baldur's Gate, BG II, and Neverwinter Nights. We can keep the gamers at a distance and be sure they don't know our home address or telephone number. No worries about the pot-smoking DM for this violently allergic chickie, either.

I'd love an online group that played in AIM or something.

6. I love it, but...

I moved across CT and am now over an hour from my old gaming group instead of 35-40 minutes. With an almost 2 year old daughter, I can't really justify driving an hour one way on Friday night and then another hour back home in the wee hours after gaming.

Besides, the DM in my group underwent major surgery last year and has yet to fully recover and my have to go under the knife again soon.
