He demanded cash. The surveillance video shows the robber placed his weapon on the counter so he could help retrieve the money from the register. That's when the store clerk grabbed the tool and started swinging. The terrified bandit ran away leaving the money and his weapon behind.

Police in Milwaukee say a bank robber on parole pulled a bank job and wrote the robbery note on the back of a form from the state probation and parole department.
The document even had the man's name on it. Authorities say he grabbed the money from a Wells Fargo Bank and ran. But he didn't get too far.
