When I go to high altitudes I still get them from time to time.

I am not even at that high of altiude. I was gaging on nose blood ewww and I look disgusting. First bloody nose in a while.

3. I used to get those when I was a kid

My mom took me to a doctor to "fix" them. He had me in some contraption that looked like a dentist's chair and he was about to "cauterize" (sp?) some blood vessels in my nose with some kind of burning hot stick, and my mother jumped up and said "you're not going to put that up my baby's nose." And we left. I continued to have nosebleeds off and on for a while, but they eventually stopped.

I could go see the nurse and lie down on the bed! Being only in the first or second or third grade, I didn't really know what sex was, but I enjoyed going to see the pretty school nurse, for reasons unknown.

At least you'll know why you like the nurse. :)

5. You can get this taken care of

You should be able to have the veins in your nose cauterized. That's what my step-father did and he no longer has those horrible nose bleeds. I get them too, but I haven't had the procedure done. I get the bleeding when I have a cold and keep blowing my nose. It's awful! But, remember that it can get to the point where it is life-threatening, so don't diminish the importance if it really does get bad, and we both know what we are talking about. ick

Don't hesitate to call 911 if the traditional methods to stop the bleeding don't seem to be working.

Wouldn't you hate to have your epitaph say that you died from a nose bleed?
