the biggest (besides 9/11 of course) was the Challenger explosion. It was my 7th birthday. :(

4. I remember that day vividly as well |
|
I was in 5th grade maybe and there was a snow day and we watched the shuttle launch live.
What a fucking horrible day. I cried a lot.

6. I was in the nurse's office, and all the kids were watching the Shuttle |
|
It was awful because of Terry McAullife was the first private citizen in space. The teacher from New Jersey who competed with her had come to our class a few days earlier. I was in 4th grade.

I was in 10th grade Algebra II class. My teacher had applied to be on the mission and was very into the whole thing so we were watching in class. It was awful.

2. 9/11 of course, the start of the war on Iraq, and Jesse's '92 speech |
|
9/11 I wasin the office. Had just returned form a smoke break when a co-worker announced that a plane had hit the tower. My best frined had just called me and I called him back-they were watching GMA and saw the second one live. Later when we heard about the PEntagon another co-worker screamed "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!". My boss forgot to tell me the we could go home at 2, the security guard informed me of this. Our apartment got broken 3 days later and they stole both our TVs but not the remotes-we used our $600 tax advance to buy a new TV
I was laying in bed when my wife ran in to tell me that it had started.
I was in my barracks in Germany. Jesse's speech (in juxtaposition to Buchanan's speech earlier at the Repub convention) was the precise moment I decided to become a Democrat.

I was upstairs shaving for a date - about 6pm Ireland time. My father yelled up "They shot Kennedy"
Jackie Kennedy also was quoted as saying "They" shot Jack.
Who are "They"? Or are we now finding out?
