An asterisk (*) indicates that a book's sales are barely distinguishable from those of the book above.
A dagger (+) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders.

2.Maddam Secretary by Madeline Albright with Bill Woodward-First week
3.The Great Unraveling by Paul Krugman

1. it looks like a liberal revolution is taking place
I think Bush's incompetence has brought a long a 'liberal revolution' the same way that Clinton's mistakes caused the 'Gingrich revolution'.

2. I saw this in the local Sunday paper
Okay actually Isaw the top ten in Entertainment Weekly (hey I guys has to go to the bathroom) but you have to have an online subscription to get to it. I think the NYT list is more respected anyway.

Pretty amazing.

3. Molly Ivin's book isn't on the list?
She got a standing room only crowd when she spoke at a small liberal arts college (William Jewell College) near Kansas City last Tuesday. Quite a few people had a copy of her book with them, even though that was the first day it was on sale.

I'm reading it and as with all these books (anything by Joe Conason, Jim Hightower, Paul Krugman, Al Franken) it's hard to do. I get so angry at what's happened to this country since the coup of December 11, 2000, that I find it hard to keep on reading.

4. Laura Ingraham can't let Ann Coulter's hate outdo her
what a lovely premise, this new book by my-Gawd-comb-your-hair Ingraham - must have gone to press pre-Ahhhnold ...

Shut Up and Sing: How Elites from Hollywood, Politics, and the UN are Subverting America

Meet the elites. They think patriotism is stupid. They think churchgoing is stupid. They think flag-flying is stupid. They despise families with more than two children. They think owning a gun is criminal. They think George Bush is an idiot. They even think it's wrong for us to do what we have to do to protect our nation and our loved ones. Worst of all, they think our abiding belief in the goodness of America and its founding principles is naïve and misguided. But in this refreshing look at the elites, Laura Ingraham reveals that it is they, not us, who are the stupid ones -- and that loudmouth liberals like Barbra Streisand would do better to just "shut up and sing."

no sweeping, bigoted generalizations there - no sireee - she's a uniter; not a divider ... 'hate' sells amongst the right-wing elite

one of these days, someone is going to sue ... hopefully soon

5. She is a coulter clone
another book on the evils of the 'Hollywood elite.'

They seem to forget their hatred of Hollywood when praising Arnold, Dennis miller etc.

7. Wow what a full and complete summary of how every liberal thinks
Each and every last one of us. I just don't know how they know so much about us. Maybe it is from dutiful study of our writings and habits, perhaps it is an intuitive power they have, or perhaps she is just regurgitating the same crap jsut like she was told to.

8. "The elites"
I keep hearing that phrase from culture-war conservatives so often that I'm beginning to think it's a code-word for something other than just "liberal." You know, the same way "welfare mother" is the code-word for "black."
