I remember my on first trip to Goode Co., I was waiting in line to be served and before you get to the food line there is a long BEER TROUGH. Not just so you can get your drink, but so you can begin enjoying Shiner Bock while you're WAITING IN LINE! At that moment I understood the old song that said, "If Heaven ain't a lot like Texas, I don't want to go."

Then I bit into the jalapeno cheese bread and heard angels singing.

11. I used to live in a suburb of Houston and when we moved there

i was amazed by the number of restraints there. Houston at one time not too long ago was the most going out to dinner city in the country.

My husband and I were talking about this the other day. You can get any type of food that you want there, and it's all good and all fattening. I live outside of Seattle now, and I lost 5 pounds just by moving here, without changing anything except eating out less. There just aren't as many appetizing choices.

We in Atlanta are very rotund. This is a fat city. Go to Europe and then come home. Boy are we fat. I was in europe and my plane was full of fat people. Look at the portions we have at our restaurants.

I went to Atlanta a couple of times in the 90s. Tex/mex at the Sundowner, italian at Rocky's, BBQ at some place on the immediate west side that my brother took us to, pizza in Avondale, lunch at the Farmer's Market-everything was so good. And the Varsity, I wouldn't want to forget them.

We in Detroit are the fattest. Our food is pretty good, too, although we don't really get much attention for that.
