Poll question: Does Your House Have An Electronic Alarm System?
Is it just a "local" alarm, or does it call a monitoring service?

We have one on every window and door and even on the attic access panel and the crawlspace access hatch. We also have double-locks on our bedroom doors.

Yeah... we're a little paranoid.

2. No. And I don't lock the windows.
I'm pretty casual with my security. Do you think I should be more careful? Perhaps you could come over and inspect my house - I live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. It's the big white house at the end of the block.

I'll leave the light on for ya. :hi:

9. Really!? Well then just drop on by.
You don't even have to knock - we don't worry too much about formalities here.

8. Nope. I live out in the boonies
it would take a miracle for anyone to even find my house. If they did, they couldn't possibly enter quietly because it's old and everything creaks and squeaks. By the time they got anywhere near me, I'd have either the .12 gauge or the 9mm handy as they both live by my bed. And I'm pretty cranky when you wake me up.

The 'armed response' dwells within.

19. Our ShihTzu Barks Incessantly At Any Stranger Outside...
but once they come INSIDE, she's all over them... "Hi! Pet me! Hi! Pet me! Pick me up! The TV is over here! Here's the safe! Pet me! Let's play!"

So, she's a good alarm, but not a good guard dog.

14. Yep.
I have alarms on all the windows and doors. This is basically at my family's insistance. I'm a single woman living alone, and I've been stalked by weirdos in the past. I also have a trained attack cat. :-)

15. Yes, and several munitions
as long as my right wing neoconservative nutjob next door is armed, and the fanatical neocon movement is staying strong, I intened to stay armed to the teeth.

Now Mr. Burgular, guess which one of us is the better shot? Me or hubby?

all the way inside the apartment, much less bark. But when I am here, he keeps me safe.
