21. Khephra has been posting here for years and Jan. 10 didn't happen yet.

His mother accidentally typed the wrong date, that's the only significance about that.

Khephra has been posting at DU ever since before I got here (which was 2002). He was great at research and a very friendly, great person.

There were 2 posts in GD, two minutes apart.

I don't see why somebody would be playing a vile prank (unless Kephra's DU password/account got hacked? Especially if he used ID.)

If he is dead, like I said in the first message, my deepest condolances do go out to his family.

Maybe it's a prank. Maybe it's an account hijack. Maybe it's real.

Please mods, take a look into things before silly rumors start to fly.

I think it is true, but a few DU'ers who pointed out the date being 2 days too soon kinda opened up a can of worms.

If somebody nixed his password, they might indeed pull a stunt like this.

Either way, it's a grizzly situation. I'd NEVER expect Kephra to willfully do a stunt death post, and I'm not going to now. Either somebody nicked his password, or it was his mum bearing truly awful news. :cry:

we had similar "off" music tastes. I downloaded an older Pixie cd last night mainly because HE said it was his favorite. There will be a HUGE hole here with his absence. He is part of what made this board so enjoyable. I just can't imagine this place without him. this is just horrible. :(

Saying "DU just isn't the same" isn't a mere cliché anymore. Khephra was part of the DNA of this place.

37. I joined at the beginning of 2002, Khephra was an institution

along with you, ZombyWoof. DU has gone through sooo many changes since then. I hate to think what this change will do to us. I could always count on finding informative and insightful posts from Kheph each time I logged on. He was one of the most respected members here. Even when he disagreed with someone it was done in a classy way. I remember the tumultous times of the Dean campaign. Kheph was a great spokesman for our cause.

I am just so saddened by this news.
