He's going to a conference and the other person dropped out so the room's booked and everything. I could go if I could round up airfare. But there's no way my boss will give me three days in a row off. AND a ticket on short notice would cost like $600 I'm sure.

I've gotten a ticket to Vegas for $200 on Delta and I booked it the day before. That was a couple of years ago, though. It's worth a shot. Also, lots of carriers are cutting fares. It's worth checking into.
