15. Let your hair grow out a bit then switch to henna, only NATURAL henna.

Red henna covers grey, but, after you use red you can darken it with mahogany or bark brown, or lighten it to copper or strawberry blonde.

Your hair will be in great condition no matter what age you are. It's the chemicals that are damaging your hair.

You can get henna at a beauty supply store or any Indian shop. It's messy and takes awhille if you do it yourself, but, since your hair is short that is probably not too much of a factor for you.

Go check out my hair in the gallery pics. And that hair is over 40 years old. heh. I go darker after I use the red to cover grey. I mix mahogany with bark brown and black. It's very hard to get packages of black.

I totally understand about the complexion, but, I think you'll trust me after you check out my hair. Take it from an old, wise (and a bit vain) compatriot. ;)

21. My natural color is medium chestnut.. I've been using the

chemical stuff a shade or two lighter in ash to get the grey to turn gold. Makes for some very cool highlights, but the dryness is killing me. I used to be able to give a mink a run for her money in terms of softness. *sob sob*

24. Works to kill lice without chemicals.

A lot of head lice are now resistant to the stuff in Rid and the other lice shampoos out there. A lot of parents get really frustrated because they treat the kids and the lice just won't die.

Olive oil on the hair will smother the living lice. Use a nit comb on the hair for another seven days to be sure you get all the eggs...

You can help avoid lice for your kids by using (don't laugh--I'm serious here!) shampoo with cream rinse in it. Lice hate cream rinse or anything else that coats hair.

EVERY year some kid or another turns up with them in my daughter's school. It started in pre-school and continues onward to this day. Makes me itch to just think about it!

Ever since I figured out that washing my hair every day is really bad, I haven't had many problems with dry hair and scalp. Although I'm still interested in what the oil does.

Still, don't do this right before a big date or work.. just in case it doesn't all wash out and you wind up looking a bit greasy.

I plan to use your beauty tip soon -- my hair is all dried out from too much dying also.
It sounds like you wash your hair, then add the oil and let it soak for an hour or so. Then you shampoo and rinse again. Is that accurate?

Do you find this to better than using the fancy and expensive conditioners on the market?

Have you used any oil other than olive, like almond (nice scent) or cocounut?

14. No. No. No. Comb oil through DRY hair.

Leave it on as long as you can. I put a shower cap on and leave it for a few hours. Then apply shampoo directly to hair and work it in BEFORE you add water. Then wash as usual.

that is like a vaseline that I picked up where the jerri curl stuff would be- supposed to make your hair grow faster. I have known african american women for years who swore by this stuff but I didnt think it would work in my hair. Well work it does! This stuff is AMAZING.

I think it is called miracle grow or something? JUST threw container away 2 days ago so unsure of the name- have to go buy more this weekend. I cant recommend it enough. My hair is SOOOO much shinier & Healthier. It also grows like no ones business. I have cut down on my split ends easily 40%. Check it out- I get it in Walgreens or Eckerd. I think its $3.99 & it lasts for months.

17. If you can get it where you are, Avocado Oil is the way to go.

I used to use olive oil but since I tried avocado I have switched. It leaves the hair stronger after you use it so you get less breakage.
