15. You'll get as many answers as there are pizza lovers...but...

...the techical aspects are always true -- it starts with the crust.

The quality of the local water used to make the dough makes a big difference (it's why bagels made outside of NYC are never going to be the same elsewhere). High-gluten flour and special yeasts are standard; but the most marvelous thing you can have for making pizza is a Coal-fired Brick Oven. NYC has some places where these still exist; you can't build them anymore, but these few are grandfathered in past the newer regulations, and with them are made THE Best Pizzas in the World.

For me...the best pizza has a crust on the thin side, but not too thin, yet has a thicker, bubbly crust ring for grabbing onto and to provide CRUNCH (none of that all-over thin 'bar pie' matzoh-like crust for me, thank you) a light coating of tomato sauce sprinkled with oregano and light drizzle of olive oil, covered with as much REAL Mozzarella cheese as it'll hold, topped with copious amounts of sliced pepperoni.

9. Casa Bianca Pizza in Eaglerock!!

The pizza in this place rocks!! There are people lined up outside every weekend waiting 45 minutes for a table...they must be doing something right!!

It is thin crust pizza...and it is awesome.

But they don't anymore. I think it had something to do with their liquor license as they gave it away free.

I went to a place somewhere in the LA area called Two Guys From Chicago that wasn't bad. Can't remember which town, though.
